A Message from our Interim Director

Welcome to Spring Term ‘22!

Campus is slowly waking up, with the rhododendrons blooming and the trees starting to bud, we can feel the excitement and anticipation of what is just around the corner.

Seniors can see the finish line with Commencement set to be an in-person event on June 12th. Spring sports have started up and many of you have probably already caught a game or two here in Corvallis. And there are new releases for accessibility and pronouns that are available to the OSU community.

All users in Canvas will now have Ally enabled on their sites. This new tool will provide up to eight alternative formats of content and there will be instructor feedback (not visible to students) on how to improve accessibility on your course sites. Read more about it the Ally post.

During Spring Break, the OSU Zoom Product Team released a new feature for all OSU accounts. There is now the ability to add an individual’s pronouns to zoom.oregonstate.edu and manage how they get displayed.

Lastly, Academic Technologies continues to support instructors with consultations to familiarize themselves with technology in their scheduled classroom and Tech Assistants for courses delivered through Zoom. Requests can be submitted through our online request forms:

Wishing you a bright and warm Spring!
